Global Sustainability Agents Programme (GFS – 2023)

The Agents of Global Sustainability Programme (GFS – 2023), promoted by the Sustainability Lab in New York, led by Dr. Micheal Ben-Eli, a renowned figure in the design and application of system dynamics to social and environmental issues, will start next July 10th in La Palma, with the local co-organisation of the TiDES Institute and the UNESCO Chair of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the University of La Laguna. The Agents of Global Sustainability programme is an experiential training programme based on practice, which instructs a group of international students in the concepts necessary for the resolution of social, economic and environmental problems to achieve the sustainability of the planet, with a practical application to a specific territory, which in this edition will be the case of the island of La Palma after the volcanic eruption of 2021. The programme will take place in Los Llanos de Aridane from 10 to 30 October 2023, and has been made possible thanks to the involvement of a wide range of institutions and social agents on the island of La Palma and the Canary Islands. TiDES and the UNESCO Chair in Tourism and Sustainable Development are actively involved in the teaching staff and in the logistical and organisational support of the Programme.
