The workshop “Tourism, Climate, and Ancestral Knowledge”, held within the framework of the CLIMAR project, aims to promote intercultural dialogue among academic, community, and institutional actors from Latin America and Europe regarding the relationship between tourism, climate change, and ancestral knowledge. This meeting seeks to reflect on strategies for sustainable and responsible tourism by integrating traditional knowledge from local communities in the face of climate change challenges. Additionally, it aims to strengthen international collaboration networks linking universities, social organizations, and communities, fostering training, research, and territorial impact initiatives.
Finally, the workshop highlights community experiences that combine ancestral knowledge with innovative approaches to climate change adaptation and regenerative tourism in diverse and vulnerable territories.
Professor Matías Manuel González will give an online presentation titled “Keys to Regenerative Community-Based Tourism.”
Moreover, Professor Javier de León will present “Analysis of the Factors Influencing Research on Tourism and Climate Change within the Framework of the CLIMAR Project.”
