UNESCO CHAIR DIRECTOR ENGAGES IN MONDIACULT 2025 TO ADVANCE CULTURE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Dr. Carmelo León, Director of the UNESCO Chair on Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development, participated in the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development – MONDIACULT 2025, the world’s largest conference on cultural policy for UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN Networks.

The conference, held from 29 September to 1 October in Barcelona, aimed to harness the power of culture to advance sustainable development. The event brought together thousands of participants to shape the global cultural agenda for the coming years, fostering consensus and momentum to include culture as a core goal in the next United Nations development strategy.
