THE UNESCO CHAIR OF TOURISM AND SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA PRESENT AT THE VI INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON DESERT ECONOMICS

The UNESCO Chair in Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) is one of the organizers of the 7th International Congress on Desert Economy, to be held in Dakhla on April 15–16, 2026.

This event, whose main organizer is the National School of Business and Management (ENCG), aims to serve as an interdisciplinary platform for scientific research on the economy, management, and development (including rural development) of deserts, arid lands, and the Sahara. Its objective is to contribute effectively to good governance and the sustainable development of arid regions worldwide, while attracting and promoting investment opportunities in the Sahara and desert areas, and fostering dialogue and collaboration among all relevant stakeholders at a global scale.
