The UNESCO Chair in Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development of the ULPGC is one of the organisers of the 5th International Congress on Desert Economics to be held in Dakhla on 18-19 April 2024.
This event, whose main organiser is the Desert Action Association, aims to be an interdisciplinary platform for scientific research on the economics, management and development (rural development) of the desert, drylands and the Sahara, in order to contribute effectively to good governance and sustainable development of drylands worldwide, attracting and promoting investment opportunities in the Sahara and deserts, and stimulating encounters between all stakeholders on a global scale.
