The website of the Network of UNESCO and Universities Chairs for Latin America on Tourism and Peace (RED/TUPAZ) is launched: a new space for academic collaboration on tourism, peace, and sustainability.

The RED/TUPAZ — the Network of UNESCO Chairs and Universities for Latin America on Tourism and Peace — has launched its official website: a digital space that fosters cooperation among 26 institutions: 7 UNESCO Chairs, 14 Latin American universities, and 5 European universities.

Coordinated by the UNESCO Chair in Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain) and the University of Cartagena (Colombia), the network was established to promote education, research, and collective action on key issues such as sustainable tourism, climate action, inclusion, gender equity, digitalization, Indigenous peoples, Afro-descendant communities, and intercultural dialogue.

Through its new website, RED/TUPAZ offers researchers, students, and professionals a space to:

  • Discover its member institutions and main areas of action.
  • Share projects, activities, and outcomes of academic collaboration.
  • Serve as a platform to generate local, regional, and global impact, connecting tourism, peace, and sustainability as key drivers of equitable development.

With this launch, the network reaffirms its commitment to tourism as a tool for social and environmental transformation, and builds an academic bridge between Europe and Latin America to collectively address today’s global challenges.
