Participation in the annual meeting of the UNWTO International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO)

Researchers from the Chair of Tourism of the ULL, Raúl Hernández and Noemi Padrón, together with Carmelo León, director of the UNESCO Chair of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development of the ULPGC, on behalf of the Canary Islands Tourism Observatory, participate in the annual meeting of the International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO) of the World Tourism Organization that takes place on October 20 and 21 at the UNWTO headquarters in Madrid. Noemi Padrón will present the paper entitled “Water digitalization and stakeholder engagement” at the meeting.

In the coming weeks, the annual report on the sustainability of tourism in the Canary Islands 2022 will be published in English and Spanish. The two Canary universities participate through an agreement with the Government of the islands in the formation of the research team of the Canary Islands Tourist Observatory. As a result of this collaboration process, the Canary Islands Tourism Observatory joined the UNWTO INSTO network in 2020.
